Theo E. Lemaire, Ph.D.
Dr. Theo Lemaire, a co-founder of Associated Mental Health Specialists, has been in practice for over 40 years. After obtaining his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University, he worked at a community mental health center in Chattanooga, (TN), where he became the director of Children & Youth Services. He moved to Maryland to develop and direct the White Marsh Counseling Center and subsequently became the first non-psychiatrist director of Franklin Square Hospital's Child and Adolescent Outpatient Program. He has been in full-time private practice since 1990. Dr. Lemaire enjoys working with people of all ages. Besides treating general mental health concerns, especially anxiety and depression, Dr. Lemaire specializes in evaluating individuals for ADHD and for substance abuse issues. His therapeutic approach is eclectic with an emphasis on Interpersonal Psychotherapy. When indicated, he conducts therapy sessions in French or in Spanish.

Larry Fishel, Ph.D., LCSW-C
Dr. Larry Fishel, a co-founder of the practice, has been practicing for over 47years. His specialties include trauma, impulse control disorders, sexual abuse and substance abuse. He has worked for the Airline Pilots Association as a mental health and grief specialist, handling emergencies, accidents, and employment issues for pilots. Dr. Fishel provides assessments and treatment for forensic cases and has served as an expert witness in these areas. He has collaborative relationships with the department of Parole and Probation, the States Attorneys Office and many defense attorneys. He is also recognized in the area of custody matters. Dr. Fishel welcomes the opportunity to mentor therapists who share interests in his areas of expertise and wish to develop their practices.

JoLynn Kernan, Psy.D
Dr JoLynn Kernan is a clinical psychologist who creates a caring environment for her child and adolescent patients. She completed her training at Kennedy Krieger Institute's Child & Family Therapy Clinic, The HSC Pediatric Center in Washington, D.C., Children's Hospital of Michigan, and Kapiolani Children's Center. Dr. Kernan has a specialty in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (implemented to improve attachment and decrease behavioral difficulties in children 2-7 years old). In addition, Dr. Kernan combines cognitive behavior therapy, play therapy techniques, sand tray, and family therapy to facilitate healing and improvement in children, teens, and their families. She addresses depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, behavioral issues, and life adjustments, such as divorce, adoption, living with extended family, chronic illness, and issues with bullying and friendships. Dr. Kernan also treats college students with high levels of anxiety or depression.

Jody Grodnitzky, M.S.
Jody Grodnitzky, M.S., has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LCPC) for over 12 years. Before coming to AMHS, Mr. Grodnitzky served as the clinical director of an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic for 5 years. He works with adults and children with a variety of mental health issues. Mr. Grodnitzky received his bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland and his master’s degree from the University of Baltimore. He is a member of the Psi Chi National Honors Society in Psychology. He is proud to be a native of Baltimore, where his family owned a shoe business for over 60 years. He is a life-long Oriole and Ravens fan.

Megan Miller, LCSW-C
Ms. Megan Miler is a licensed clinical social worker providing psychotherapy to older adolescents and adults. In addition to her social work degrees from Hawaii Pacific University (BSW) and the University of Maryland (MSW), with a specialization in addictive behaviors, she has a 2 year specialization in psychodynamic theory and techniques. Within a welcoming, caring, and safe environment, Ms. Miller facilitates healing, growth, and improvement in adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She addresses trauma, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, self-esteem and confidence issues, addiction, grief, and life adjustments (such as chronic pain, chronic illness, divorce, issues with infertility, relationships, and friendships). A specific area of interest is women's issues. Ms. Miller is based in our Essex office and currently conducts sessions through telehealth.

Lori Mooney, CRNP-PMH
Ms. Lori Mooney is a board certified psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner who has been in practice since 2010. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, where she also served on the faculty. She treats both children and adults in her clinical practice with AMHS. She sees patients both in office and virtually

Gayle Blum, PMHNP-BC
Ms. Gayle Blum is licensed as both a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and a family practice nurse practitioner. She has a master's in nursing from St. Joseph's College in Maine and a post-master's specialization from the University of Cincinnati. Besides working at AMHS, Ms. Blum is affiliated with several local hospitals. Currently, she sees patients primarily through telehealth.
